Candles on the Lake

The slow return to normal activities continues for the Band and we were pleased that a small group was able to support an event for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. The organisers hope that this will be a regular annual event.

A Live Recording

Finally we have returned to rehearsals. We are fortunate to have a Corps hall that is sufficiently large to accommodate the Band - appropriately distanced - and for the last couple of Thursdays we have had the pleasure of making music together once more. This week we also had some guests - including Martin Hunt all the way from California.

A Virtual Premiere

Almost two months after our first venture into the virtual world we are proud to present our second recording made whilst physically distant from each other. The current plan is to have our first rehearsal for 15 months this coming Thursday so - all being well - this will also be our last such video.

A New Beginning

The pandemic that visited us in 2020 meant that the Band had to temporarily suspend its activities. Clearly the restart - whenever it happens - is going to find circumstances much changed, both for the members of the Band individually and for us all collectively. It was therefore welcome news that Howard Evans is both willing and able to resume his role as Bandmaster from 1st February in order to help plot a course for the future.

Thankful

It has been a strange year - difficult for many - and yet there is still so much to be thankful for and Thankful is the title of a new CD featuring the singing of Gemma Hinchliffe. The Band were delighted to be able to contribute to this recording (quite a while ago now!) and are pleased to announce that it was published yesterday.
