An Update

It has been over a year since the last entry in this blog - our apologies for not keeping you up to date with what has been happening with the Band.  There has been a lot.  That applies both to the Band as a whole and to the individuals within the Band.  This entry will not fill in all the holes - but it is intended to be the start of a more regular updating of the Band news once again.

The Band has been as busy as usual over the last year - someone counted over 200 entries in the diary.  These activities included all of our normal commitments to the Corps and to the community - including the Battle of Britain parade and the Remembrance Day service at the Cenotpah in Bournemouth Gardens.  There are photos from those events - and others - on the Boscombe Corps website.

The band weekend in November featured Kaytie Harding as soloist and was led by Brian Burditt.  During the weekend Malcolm Randell was commisioned as deputy bandmaster - replacing Garry Lawrence who has moved the the USA.  Programmes for that weekend will be avalable soon in our repertoire pages for those who are interested in the repertoire that was covered.

Apart from Malcolm, other changes in the line up of band locals were Craig Snell taking over as Band Sergeant with David Phillips as his assistant and Brian Wright moving on to the role of Band Librarian.  The personnel within the Band changes frequently with comings and goings - the current lineup can always be seen on our personnel page.

The coming year promises to be just as busy - and we are pleased to have been invited to particpate in Symphony Sounds in Birmingham on June 7th
