The slow return to normal activities continues for the Band and we were pleased that a small group was able to support an event for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. The organisers hope that this will be a regular annual event.

They envisage ‘Candles on the Lake’ to be a significant event in the local community calendar going forward taking place every year in the autumn. It is planned to be a memorable and meaningful celebration where families and friends can come together to reflect and remember loved ones, as well as seeing a beautiful display of lights to represent all of the incredible people in our community.

This poignant and special event started with a reflective walk around the boating lake and Lewis-Manning volunteers then floated the candles onto the lake for the magical display of lights. Donations collected will be used to fund the Bereavement and Family Support service as well as other vital services, enabling invaluable support to patients and their families from diagnosis of a life-limiting condition, through to end of life and bereavement.
