The end of the summer season for the band was at the divisional welcome to new officers and farewell to candidates. We said farewell to Luke Reading who has been playing with the band for almost a year and no goes with our best wished to the Training College. We were also, of course, welcoming our new officers to the Division.

We have had Majors Ray and Carelle Begley at the corps since July but it was good to be part of the welcome to them and the other new officers into the Southern Division.

The summer season has been busy - as always - with the band taking part in a Songs of Praise event at Burley as well as our usual one in the harbour at Keyhaven. Bandstand performances in Pine Walk, Bournemouth were joined by a return to our old haunt at Fisherman's Walk in Southbourne where the band played a programme as well as leading some community singing.

Combined with our regular Sunday morning witness in Bournemouth Gardens and our 'regular' support of services made this yet another busy summer with plenty of opportunity to witness to the people of Bournemouth and the surrounding area.
