Just completed an excellent weekend with our special guests the Chicago Staff Band. For many it was an opportunity to meet up with old friends as Boscombe Band and Norridge Band had exchanged visits not too long ago. For others it was a feast of good music - both brass and vocal. For the Chicago Staff Band it was the start of a strenuous tour culminating next weekend on the mall. For ALL it was a blessed and God inspired time that spoke to the heart.

The Band's visit to Exeter was a great day out. We quite literally stopped the traffic with our march through the town centre and it was gratifying to see just how many people stopped to listen to the short programme we gave consisting of good Army marches, hymn tune arrangements and scripture based songs. I think that most of the Band thought that the long walk to the start of the march was worthwhile - at least we ended up marching downhill!

After a lovely tea provided at the hall we put on a programme that was appreciated by all present. It was good to receive a lot of feedback, not just about the band's playing, but about the impact that their message and presence had made in the town and in the Corps.
