Thank You - Malc
Every band needs somewhere for people to 'learn the trade' and for salvationists this is usually the YP Band. It is therefore very important to have the correct leaders in place to ensure that our young people are ready for the challenges that the band brings. We have had a long line of very good YP Band Leaders at Boscombe and we are sad that this weekend Malcolm Randell has after many years stepped down (he is too young to retire!) from that post.
Malcolm has been an inspiration for our youngsters and as a Band we would like to use this public forum to thank him for his hard work, his humour and his time over the past years.

Farewell to our Solo Horn
A bittersweet day for the band as we said farewell to our solo horn player - Barney Lawrence - who is off to Toronto to take up a new job and become a member of a new Corps. Barney contributed to the morning meeting with Len Ballantine's lovely solo His Eye is On the Sparrow. We shall miss Barney - but we wish him well and hope that his adventure in Canada is a great success

Visit to Portland
The Band travelled to Portland to play a concert in the Underhill Methodist Church. An appreciative crowd enjoyed the programme which included our first performance of Paul Lovatt-Cooper's Fire in the Blood

Sunday Concert
The Band's Sunday Concert was received very well by a good crowd on Sunday evening. This was first programme for the band in the autumn season and it was an opportunity to showcase some of the band's soloists.
We also welcomed Alicia Begley into the 1st Cornet section - we hope that she will enjoy her service with the Band.
